Getting a bigger harddrive, How do I transfer all my data?

I have an 80 gig and its not cutting it because im using FCE, and it is not enough storage. How do I put all my data onto a new harddrive, after i install it, and put the OS on it?

Easiest way:

1. put the new HD in an external enclosure
2. use Carbon Copy Cloner to clone the old HD onto the new one
3. Boot from the new HD (still in the enclosure) to make sure it's working
4. take the new HD out of the enclosure and into the MacBook
5. Put the old HD in the enclosure

boom, now you have a perfectly cloned internal HD, and a nice portable external HD
