Hello all!

I want to share a folder that is not in my home directory, and to make it available to windows computers on my network.

the only way I can see is to manually edit the smb.conf file to include the new share definition, but I do not know the su password (have not tried using sudo yet) but am pretty loathe to use this method anyway when there may be another way of doing it which would not go behind mac's back, as it were.

Thanks in advance!

Thanks for that, I used Sharepoints and that does exactly what I want, although I have not been able to prevent write access, even though I set the the user access from r/rw to r. But I will play around and probably work it out.

NICE.
