Hi guys

Would anyone know how to add the current person who is logged on username or full name eg bloggsj or joe bloggs to the menu bar say near the clock, and for the name to be always there when any application is running? Any suggestions would be great, thanks in advance

You need to have more than 1 user on the System...

System Prefs >>> Accounts >>> Login Options (may need to "unlock/Authenticate) >>> Check Enable Fast User Switching >>> Then select "Name" or "Short Name" or "Icon" in the drop down list.

EDIT: LOL!!! great job EVERYONE!!!

It's probably a lot of wasted overhead to enable FUS just put your name in the menu bar. Kinda like using dashboard for just the calculator. Boy us Mac folk love RAM!

Smurfy, that was a very unsmurflike comment.

He's looking for a better solution. And I agree that there should be a better one. Or possibly not. But turning on FUS for a simple icon/badge is silly.

Perhaps it would be better to edit the icon resource of spotlight =)

beardie, I can't help you out with that. You should start a new thread here posing that question. I don't know where the icon resource resides, what format it is, etc.
