I am currently on a PC until I can get my MacBook Pro! I wanna know if my MacBook Pro is gonna be compatible with my NETGEAR router and will it automatically pick up local connections?

Thanks for the help!

You will be able to connect to any router that a PC can connect to. I'm running PC and Macbook pro on a Netgear router.

My MBP is wireless connected to my Netgear Gateway router, it works perfectly. Don't worry.

P.S. The AirPort in your MBP will scan for any visible SSID in the air, once you've established a connection with a trusted wireless network the MBP will automatically connects to that network next time.
