Just wanted to know if anyone could tell my why the time on my computer is 5 or so hours ahead when I start up my computer. I have tried setting it manually and automatically syncing it over the internet, and even tried locking the settings, but I still have to reset it.

The time zone setting might be causing it to change to be 5 hours ahead. You'll have to change it to your current time zone (i.e. Eastern Time Zone, which is -5 Hours GMT). Syncing your clock will use your current time zone setting and adjust it accordingly.
