I have an 800 megahertz G4 running 768 ram, and 10.4, its been running slow, and now it wont even boot. When it turns on it gets to the white screen with the apple and just turns itself off. I put the OSX disk in and hold down the C key and it just locks up. I tried to boot it off the disk by holding control and it doesnt do anything, just turns off again. Any suggestions?

open it up.

take out the ram.

turn it on

you will here a different beep.

turn it off.

take out the little battery found on the M/B for keeping time and date (pmos or smoething or rather).

there may be a little push switch on the M/B near the battery, if so push this. -it resets something.

wait for 10 minutes.

put battery back in

put ram back in.

shut the case.

turn on.

otherwise go to apple.com and follow the advice there.

there is everything you need to know about fixing these problems with step by step repairs and lists of different faults/errors and how to fix them.
