Why is my dock doing this?

Everytime I click on another program on the desktop another dock icons name appears - always in line with the cursor. But I don't know why or how to stop it?

Might not be related but this has been happening since the update. In fact the whole thing hasn't been right since then.. like being on Windows again ;)

Thanks,

Adam

So... program names are appearing even if the cursor isn't over the icon? That's weird. Try a permissions repair? Or something like Onyx and run the maintenance tools.

Cool I'll give it a shot. Just seems everything is slowly dying.. safari is still poorly responsive at times, as in mail.

Ah well :)

Since the update (seemingly), my dock won't auto-hide! Anybody else seen this?

Did you check the system prefs to see if "Auto-Hide the dock" is still checked???

Yes, that is the first thing I checked. I even turned it off and back on again and no luck.

I fixed my problem by removing the plist for the dock. Then it works and all I have to do is recreate the look of my personal dock. so, I'm back auto-hiding!

What does Command + Option + D do? (I'm at work on a PC so can't try it out).
