How do I get pics from the web on Iphoto????

I'm a newbie with this and I appreciate your help. I am trying to save various jpgs from the web to my Iphoto. I thought you just had to drag the pic to the Iphoto icon on the dock and it would transfer to Iphoto library. Doesn't seem to work for me. I have downloaded pics from my digital camera and that works fine. What am I doing wrong. Your help is appreciated

You can either use the new Safari 3 Beta, which has a right click option to 'add image to iPhoto library', or drag it to your desktop and then drag all the images you want into iPhoto.
