Ok... this thread I purly for throwing round idea's about...
you guessed it..
mods and custom builds...

I plan on trying to make a mac out of every old skool games console...
First and prob the easiest will prob b the Nintendo... (Not as if it's going to be easy anyway)
Might use the components from an old powerbook or a mini.... hmmm..

But the real challenge is a slot loading device for a sega mega drive!!!!

Commadore should be quite a fun project tho... :)

Anyone else had any ideas floating around in there heads???

Also is there motherboards on the market you can buy that Mac OS will support????
Or will all these designs have to be from components of macs???

It'd be much, much easier to do this with PC components.

I saw some where that you can get a micro ATX mobo with a built-in (soldered on) CPU. It wasn't the fastest thing, but it was tiny and would be perfect for this scenario.

If you were to use Mac parts, I'd suggest ripping apart an old G3 iBook/Powerbook, as they are small form factor parts.

Of course, check eBay for this stuff.

For a little more oomfph you could dissect a PMG4Cube... but they're pretty rare and have probably held their resale value pretty well.

Good luck anyway; I hope to see pics if/when you get done. :)

Nintendos are played out. How about going even more old skool and doing an Atari?
