Help!!! iMac Indigo

Hey guys!

I just bought an iMac PowerPC G3 Indigo from a Graphic Design major.
500Mhz
512RAM
75G HD
MAC OS X 10.3.9

Initially, it still had some of her projects and music files on it. I shut it down, and when I restarted it had gone back to default settings.

Now, every time I shut it down, reboot it, or restart it--it reverts back to default settings. It doesn't save any files that I upload. Ever.


Any ideas on what could be going on?

I called the girl I bought it from, but she won't be able to get back to me until later in the week (and even then she may have no idea).

I am not 100% sure I understand what you are saying, but did you by any chance rename her account in OSX? In other words change the name of the user folder or account? If so everything would be back at default.

If you mean settings like the Clock, then it would be the PRAM Battery that got old and died.
