I finally got my macbook all set up and I bought a WD MyBook 250GB external drive. It came formated as FAT32.
I would like to back up my macbook so I was using the external for all my stuff and I was going to make a backup image file and just put it on the external. I found out this wont work because its going to be a 120GB file because its a copy of my macbook.
So question is. If I reformat the external and do a backup to it using superduper it will be a bootable drive at 250GB. Now what happens to the extra 130GB? Does it just become a 250 partition that I can boot from. Also if I keep it as a backup can I dump say 50GB of extra stuff on it.
Id like to have the macbook and the MyBook as exact copies but then use the MyBook to dump my videos on to and keep the Macbook empty.
If that makes any cense to anyone.
