So I've used excel on my mac before, no problems. I try to open it the other day and it opens fine, but as soon as I try to perform something or click in the formula bar to type something it freezes slightly, then pops up saying "Text Opening Microsoft Excel"

After a few seconds I get an error:
'Microsoft Excel' is being modified by another use. Open as read-only?

I know some of you may have seen this before but I've been looking around on other forums and have seen the question asked, but never an answer. Weird thing is that it is not a specific file I'm trying to open, but the entire program.

I've tried to reinstall it, and that doesn't work.
Any suggestions on a way to fix this would be well appreciated,

Thanks

Delete any preferences files for Excel in ~\Library\Preferences to see if it clears it up.
