Hi,

I just signed up for a .Mac account (I am BRAND NEW to Macs) for my MacBook Pro and am switching from Gmail to Apple Mail.

1) QUESTION #1: I am synchronizing my Gmail to Apple Mail. Do I need to stay logged into Apple Mail for this process to take place or will it work in the "background" when I am not logged in?

2) Is the WEBMAIL version of Apple Mail any good? I had a problem viewing it (the frames seem messed up) on my Dell computer at work.

Thanks

#1 Apple mail needs to be open in order to download any mail from anywhere. Is that what you are asking? Most of us never close apps, just let them run in the background, so mail would be downloading whenever it comes in. When the computer goes to sleep (most of us don't turn them off, just let them sleep), and re-awakes, mail will automatically download at that time. Is that what you are asking?

2. I check my webmail frequently from work on a PC, and though I am not totally in love with the interface, it does work. Takes a little getting used to since they upgraded a while back.

Good luck! And wlecome to the wonderful world of macs!

#1 - Correct.

#2 - Haven't had any experience, so can't comment.

I like it - looks and works just like my desktop version.
