Help with picture icon on user account

I need some help, I can't seem to change the picture icon on my user account. I'm the administrator, so that's not the issue. The pictures that I would like to use are brought in to the edit window just fine and I can resize them with the slider. When I press set, the picture on the change menu shows the change, but my user account to the left does not show a change. When I close out the user account menu, the icon reverts back to the default. Can anyone help me with this issue?
