I'm not so sure about the translucent menu bar.

I hope it's an option and not forced upon the user.
Not that it's a huge deal.

The lit-up dot (instead of the triangle) underneath opened programs in the dock is pretty cool.

I think they're talking about going into Get Info on a file and looking at the Users & Groups that have rights to it.

Screw the shallow eye candy!

Finder windows can also be set to always show the path of a file with the new "Show Path Bar" option.

path_bar2.jpg

Path Bar in Finder windows (not just when you do a Search) = SOLD!

The dock better still have a hide option, I dont want that thing on my screen all the time. And a transparent menubar is ugly as…

Even if it's not an option, I can bet someone will have a hack to change it. :)

I kinda like the new look. :D

But this household is definitely going to hold off a bit once Leopard is out. Will wait till some of the bugs are ironed out first before buying it.

Gasp! It looks like Finder will actually be pretty usable - the thought waves of "make Finder not suck" I've been sending have finally reached them. If there's a proper collapsible tree view on the left I may even buy 10.5.0 instead of 10.5.1!

Overall it's looking nice though, that new Dock will have to grow on me a bit, but they are adding a lot of nice touches. I too hope the translucent menu bar is optional though, that's a bit superfluous.

I wasn't around for the Tiger update - did 10.4 have changes on the same scale as Leopard?
