a comparable program to MS paint?

not necessarily to doodle during class, but if i want to draw on pictures/edit them, whats the best program to get? i tried playing around with iphoto, preview, and some HP program that came with my printer, but none seemed to be able to do what i wanted. any help?

Photoshop, but it's not free, and probably more complicated than you need.

I searched around the internet, and found some stuff:

- Try the paint function in AppleWorks.
- Graphic Converter in your Applications folder.

Agreed. ArtRage is comparable in terms of features. In addition, this topic has been covered many times in my short tenure here. Even the most rudimentary of searches should uncover some useful suggestions.

Photoshop, and to some extent, The Gimp are probably way overkill for what you need if you found MS Paint to be sufficient.

Its free, more or less same as paint on XP and very lightweight

Try www.eazydraw.com that has a free edition so you can try it. The website will give you all the info you need about it.

It can be pretty sophisticated or very simple, whichever you choose. You get the basics for free though.
