How to clean the rubber on the screen hinge?

The rubber part of the screen hinge of my MBP has been lightly scratched. In attempt to remove this scratch, I have used wet cloth to wipe over the rubber surface. Although it ended up making more marks on the rubber. Does anyone here know how to effectively clean the rubber?

I use a basic monitor wipe made by Dust Off and it works fine... no streaks or marks.
