Just a suggestion to Moderators, could you leave a redirect link when you move threads. It's making me go insane when i'm looking at a thread, go to look at it a bit later and its gone, and i have to search for it.

Thanks.

Normally I try to remember to leave a temporary redirect that expires in a day or so. If you leave them permanently it tends to clog up the tubes too much...

But I'll mention this to the others and see if we can't all start doing this as a rule.

I always leave a redirect link. They are temporary and expire 1 month.

I do the same, though I usually only leave the redirect for an hour, up to one day. Leaving a slew of redirected threads does tend to clog things up.
I have literally moved a dozen or more threads (dealing with nothing but software issues) out of somewhere like the MacBook forums. Had I left a longer redirect one would still have to sift through all of those before they got to any threads that dealt with Hardware issues (as the forum indicates it should).

Yes, it would. :)
That is why there are things like Sub-forum Stickies, Forum Rules, and the Forum Courtesy Thread to help members out and advise them where to post things. If people weren't in such a rush to post and just slowed down a sec to read the preliminaries, it would cut down on the need for redirects substantially.

Good point actually.

But for new users its not so obvious.
I remember when I was new my posts were all over the place!
