Will my Macbook's Ram fry if i use 1.5 gig of ram?

im sorry if there is a post about this already.. and there probably is something about this in some posts, but i cant seem to find any information

i was wondering.. i have 1 gig stick and 2 512mb of ram that already came with the macbook. But will anything happen.. like will my ram "fry" if i put my 1 gig with 1 512 mb? they seem to be "A semitry".

please, advise because i dont want my baby to die

No, but you might get a slight performance hit that you won't even notice.

So, adding more RAM will slow down the unit...?

No, but adding different amounts in each slot, such as 1GB + 512Mb, gives slightly less performance than two identical amounts, such as 2x1GB. The difference is so minute it doesn't matter, but someone always mentions it, so I did too. I'm weak like that.

Okay, so what happens if I install 2 gigs of RAM in my 14" iBook? Isn't the "limit" 1.25 gigs?
