When browsing my router configuration, my laptop has 2 entries as (null). I am guessing one is for ethernet, and one is for wireless. Depending which I am using at home.....

I have done some reading both on the web and this forum, I found an unanswered thread on here (link) but still no answer. I found a few places that said to modify your /etc/hostconfig, so I did this using sudo pico, and added a line down the bottom that said:

HOSTNAME=daniel_laptop

I saved this and restarted my computer. I also restarted the router. But I still have 2 entries for (null). Any idea on how to actually change this?

Thanks in advance!!

Your Mac's Specs
MacBook Pro 2.8Ghz, 4GB RAM, 500GB HDD
I'd try this:

System -> Sharing

Change the computer name there and reboot.

Ok, well that fixed my problem!! Thanks for the reply mate.

Another question, is it possible to set a different name for the ethernet and for the wireless so I can identify them in the router config?
