Another question.
My logins and passwords are never just saved or maybe I should say I am not able to stay logged in to forums after I do a shutdown, or log of the computer. I always have to "re-log in". Is there something to do about this?

Thanks for the info, this forum is such a help (even though I still don't have a clue with this mac thing:D )

To help you get over your Switcheritis, may I suggest to you this book by David Pogue? Switching to the Mac: The Missing Manual, Tiger Edition I bought it for a friend who has always been a Windows user and she says it helped her a whole lot.

As for passwords not being remembered.. When you log on here, do you click the Remember Me button? That's what I did on my first visit here. When I leave, I don't log off the forum so I don't ever have to log in again, my info is stored in my Safari cookies and I'm good to go for my next visit.

Each time you clear your browser cookies, it will reset or rather delete all your stored passwords and log-in info.

Right, but it removes them even when I don't empty the cookies. Unless is there something in safari preferences that automatically does it???

I'm not sure I am at work right now. If so, what will that do?

it will prevent cookies, and your history from being saved.

Some forums wont let you automatically log in (like this one).
Look in Preferences/Autofill and check all three boxes.

On this site you have to also when you enter your Username and Password, put a check by "Remember Me". There is a place to check. Also Safari should ask you if you want to remember the login info for most sites. Be sure to say yes. You will find Bank sites and some others will not let you log on automatically. That is for security. Safari overall AutoLogs me into more sites than anything else I have ever used either on XP or OSX.

See now I'm back at work on a PC and it kept my login from yesterday. There must be something goofy with my mac that I have to do it everytime I go to web sites. I guess I'll have to live with it (but not like it)
