freeware programmable speaker recorders?

I'm wondering if anyone knows of any freeware applications that allow you to program the time and duration of recording from your mac's speaker output.

There's nothing really free, as such, but there is reasonable. Audio HiJack Pro is only US$32 and will do precisely what you want, schedules and all. You can even specify the particluar app you want it to record from, rather than everything your system outputs.
