Date sensitive entries in Address Book

Is there any way that Birth/Anniversary dates could be included in Address Book in such a way that similar to ICal, a user can be alerted?

There are ways to add fields in Address Book. Look at the screengrabs below...

Minus (-) sign removes a field that is highlighted, the plus (+) sign adds a field that is highlighted. Hope these help.

Thanks for you reply. I don't believe that just adding a birthdate field to the Address Book would by itself generate an alert message that that date is coming up.

Address Book might not. But Dates to iCal will...
