I'm going to be getting a macbook soon, but I'm having trouble choosing between a 1.83 C2D or one of the newer 2.0 C2D. I know there is a difference in the speed of the chips, but what kind of a difference does the extra cache in the 2.0 GHz model make? Would I notice a difference in browsing the web, word processing, and burning a CD or DVD at the same time? Thanks.

You would only notice a difference if you did some intensive CPU tasks, such as video encoding and sat there with a stopwatch.

Any Core2Duo can do the tasks you describe in its sleep.

Hardly any difference at all. It might open Photoshop 0.000001 of a second quicker.
