There are some very affordable Macs on eBay that would be great depending on what you plan to use them for. I just recently purchased a PowerMac G3 All-In-One, and while it isn't going to win any speed records or run Final Cut, it will be great for the internet and some word processing, which is all I need it for. It will also be fun to upgrade it over time as a hobby. Save for a few weeks, keep checking eBay, and you'll be all set. ;)

Is the Studio Display an LCD, or the older CRT version?

I bought a nice little iMac G3 Revision A, which is a 233MHz system with 96MB RAM and a 20gig HD (It was upgraded). The actual system cost me $53, with $49 shipping. It was a great deal. It works up there with my 2.6GHz Celeron and occasionaly is sluggish (as is my Windows system).

My point is, you can easily get a great deal as I did. If you put your mind to it, save the money, and go to eBay, it's quite simple.

Exactly. The PowerMac G3 All-In-One I just bought was $22 plus shipping. Save up a bit, and you'll be on your way to Mac ownership in no time.

In that case, it sounds like a pretty fair price. Not a tremendous deal, but if it's in very good condition and you can maybe get the price to come down $100-$200, I'd say go for it.
