iMac randomly goes into sleep mode help!

When it goes into sleep mode, can you wake it up and then will it go back into sleep mode?
Check the system logs in your console and see if there is anything that talks about a kernel panic and overheating making the computer go into sleep mode. If it's doing what I think it's doing, then there should be a big string of kernel panic's.
