Calibrating Macbook Battery question

13 inch Macbook Pro Retina, 2.7ghz, 128gb SSD
I saw this article about calibrating the macbook battery

it says in step 5 you have to turn your the computer off or let it sleep for five hours.

But if the battery is in sleep mode, then how do you turn it off; by holding down the power button?

You dont. Just let it sleep.

As soon as your below 10% yo can either turn it off or just close it and let it sleep. It doesnt matter.
