Questions about updates, software update vs. manual download.

I noticed that under the support and download site on apple.com, there are some updates which did not show up when I clicked software update from the menu bar. For example, when I clicked software update the "Macbook Pro Update" did not show up, but it's there on the website for download. Also the "OS X 10.4.10 Update v1.1 Update" did not show up when I clicked software update from the menu bar. Now were these updates included when I initially updated to 10.4.10 or do I need to manually download and install these? I'm just wondering and any help on this is greatly appreciated.
