weird ipod/computer problem

ok i need help. my ipods wont appear on my computer. i have tried my shuffle, video, and nano. does anyone know what going on? the ipod icons dont even appear on the desktop and not even in itunes.

Have you tried a different USB port? Tried a different cable? Those would be my first thoughts.
