is there a way to uninstall an update?

i'm having some problems with my external. if you havent noticed this is the second time and its because of the osx 10.4 update is there any way to uninstall the update?

I am having trouble too. Popping noises and unrecognised external hard drives. I made a thread too but no-one is answering. Won't Mac fix this terrible mistake?
