my mbp/auto update said to download Superdrive update 2.1, so i did, and it restart and installed on next boot in osx.

every time i restart back into OSX now i get the following popup...

"SuperDrive 2.1 update- no Updatable devices found..."

it seems it has updated though. When i used to start the computer up, pre-update, the dvd drive would slowly make about 2-3 seconds of noise.
its now less than 1second of noise.

how do i get rid of this error every time i turn on ?

Mine did the same after the update was complete. Don't know why but Apple put it in the Login folder.

Can probably just delete the file after the update, but I went to System Preferences - Accounts - Login Items: Select it in the list and then click the "-" below to remove it from startup.

Actually, and I don't know if this was the correct thing to do, I just went into the Utilities folder under Applications and deleted the file. That did it for me.

Shouldn't be a problem. Thought about it myself and just decided to take it out of startup instead.

serious problem

i've got the same problem, except worst. whenever i startup my computer, i get a thing that says "no updatable devices" etc. but i can't move my mouse, my computer is frozen and i can't do anything, except hold down the power button to shut down.

what can i do? i have an older ibook - anyway i can connect to my macbook harddrive and erase something to fix this?

Pontoon you should probably make a new thread for your problem.

I had the same problem with the firmware update at startup. I just ran a search for it in spotlight and deleted it and its install file. Havn't had any problems.

Sorry to bring this back up, but ever since that update, I can't seem to burn CD's, in toast some error like "MEDIUM ERROR" pops up.

Anyone else have this problem??

This is not cool, I need my burner to work.

Thanks
