1) Today skype hung me up in the middle of a call.
2) Later I try to make another call, and I get a message that I need
to buy more time first (even though a couple weeks ago they said I had
a bunch of credit that doesn't expire until December).
3) When I try to report the problem
a) It is impossible to enter anything into the "problem description"
field, even though it is a "required" field. I tried 2 browsers,
accepting cookies and scripts.
b) I'm told my user name and email addy don't match.
4) When I succeed in logging onto their forum, there is no way to make a
post.

So I need an alternative. I did invest in an iMic for skype. My problem is, the providers I can find either require a Windows PC or monthly fees. I only make a few minute of calls a month, and want a per-minute rate.

Thanks! I hadn't heard of them, and they didn't come up in the searches I did.

I don't know what's up with Skype. The part about the email addy not matching my user ID is apparently my fault: I had forgotten I gave them a different addy.

However, when I went to pay, my usual addy was recognized. I bought more time, and it's been working OK so far.
If I have more travails, I'll get Gizmo.
