• The Mac-Forums Community Guidelines (linked at the top of every forum) are very clear, we respect US law and court precedence when it comes to legality of activity.

    Therefore to clarify:
    • You may not discuss breaking DVD or BluRay encryption, copying, or "ripping" commercial, copy-protected DVDs.
    • This includes DVDs or BluRays you own. Even if you own the DVD or BluRay, it is still technically illegal under the DMCA to break the encryption. While some may argue otherwise, until the law is rewritten or the US Supreme Court strikes it down, we will adhere to the current intent of the law.
    • You may discuss ripping or copying unprotected movies or homemade DVDs.
    • You may discuss ripping or copying tools in the context that they are used for legal purposes as outlined in this post.

I just want to edit a small clip i have (under 30 seconds long). I want to cut a part out of it and edit it so its slow motion.

i got it all down in iMovie but when i import the .avi into imovie it says "Created with Flip4Mac trial www.flip4mac.com"

I'm not using flip4mac at all, just dragging the avi from my finder into imovie... is flip4mac re-encoding the .avi to whatever format imovie accepts?

How do i get rid of the trial crap? (other than buying it... like is there an other app thats freeware that does the same thing its doing)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

NEVERMIND... sorry guys, figured it out... flip4mac was converting the file in the background hence i got that message...

all is well now, sorry for a worthless post.

I used imovie for a while before I switched to final cut and I've never had a something like that pop up. Which version for imovie do you have, (4,5,6) and where did you get the clip from?

sorry for the late reply... have been dealing with a bunch of stuff and not been able to get online much.

I just used mp4 converter from mp4converter.net, converted the .avi to .mp4 and imported into iMovie.
