Changing iTunes music location

Is there some magic potion I need to drink to get iTunes to change it's music location? I change the location to a folder on a network share and.... nothing happens, I just get the local music. No matter what I do it won't scan the folder I give it for music files.

iTunes doesn't scan folders automatically. You need to drag the folder into iTunes to make it import.
