My photos from the F1 US Grand Prix

Below are links to slideshows of all the picture I took from the USGP weekend. The two support classes were Formula BMW and IMSA Porsche GT3 Cup Cars. They were cool, but little fish compared to F1. Hearing an F1 car come screaming (and I do mean screaming) by you will make the hair stand up on the back of your neck... lap after lap after lap. The absolute coolest sound, though, is when they launch on launch control. It literally sounds like they are ripping the air apart - amazing!

i wish the races were broadcast a bit earlier than 2-4am here

The noise is fantastic - you can literally feel the air vibrate!

I've been to two GPs.

Nice photos. I wish I could have gone, but I was out of town. The noise is insane. I can usually hear the cars from the USGP or the 500 from inside my apartment downtown!

Thanks guys! I was shooting with a Canon Rebel XT and a Canon L-series 70-200 f/4 (non-IS). All images were shot as JPEG's in the large resolution.

Thanks! I got there early on Saturday so I was able to snag a good spot for taking pictures during practice and qualifying.

did you happen to see the race photos in the new issue of wired (with the transformers on the cover). the guy uses his hasseblad in the coolest way i may have ever seen...

Thanks! I didn't know Wired had any F1 pics, but I'll stop by a mag shop today and check it out.

well not normally (and they're nascar, not F1, sadly), but the guy has such a cool setup and process that it got him in.
