Might need to do some repair work
Restart the machine
Hold down the command apple key and S key until some type start to flow up the screen
when it stops flowing type fsck -fy
hit return key
do this several times until it no longer says system ok and mentions modified
Then type exit or reboot and hit return.

+ rep to someone I read this from this morning......

Yep I tried holding down cmd & s, no luck.

However I went to system prefs, startup disk, selected the cd, and restarted from there and presto, it booted from the disk. I repaired and it said "Header Volume" needs minor repair. It was successful and I rebooted and all is well.

But whats a volume header? lol

I found this on wikipedia:

"Sector 2 contains the Volume Header equivalent to the Master Directory Block in an HFS volume. The Volume Header stores a wide variety of data about the volume itself, for example the size of allocation blocks, a timestamp that indicates when the volume was created or the location of other volume structures such as the Catalog File or Extent Overflow File. The Volume Header is always located in the same place."

I still dont know what it does, but apparently I repaired it lol

I wonder why it wouldn't boot from the cd while holding c....
