Nice. I like every shot you posted. Especially the Dragon Fly picture.

I'm thinking about getting myself a nice camera after I get my iMac, but don't know much at all about them. Do you have a recommendation in the $300-$400 price range?

Hmmm.... not sure what's available for what price in $ - I'm in the UK. I'll have a look tonight when I get in from work though.

Do you have a camera now? If so what. What type of shots are you looking to take? Are you looking to print and what size?

Probably one for a new thread?

One word - Fabulous. Any chance I can get the Lancaster one for a desktop?

I have a Kodak Easyshare Z7590, and it's nice but not amazing.

I'll probably just be taking a lot of nature shots, and pictures of people, etc. I'm not looking to print unless I take it to costco and get standard images printed. I'll probably use it more for a hobby, and have the pictures saved for my viewing pleasure.

If you click the picture below, it will take you to my flickr album. Nothing special, just a few photos I decided to upload to give you an idea of what I will be shooting. :)

Some nice shots there Brendan - you have a good eye!

Take a look at the Panasonic Lumix FZ8

Looks good. I'll do some research on the subject and tell you my decisions once I make them. Hows that sound? :)

nice...

i'd love to get a nice digital SLR, but the funds just don't exist. ;)

the Lumix was my concession to my desire to try to get back into photography (my last SLR is a Canon that's about as old as my 37 years). it just takes such a better pic than the nikon coolpix it replaced. and don't get me wrong, i love me some nikon, but their low end digital point and shoots are pretty awful.

Agreed - when it comes to low end point and shoots I think Panasonic and Fuji have it sorted.
