For those of you who do some casual image editing (or even serious editing), I'd like to recommend "The Gimp". I haven't seen many people recommend it here, but it really is a great and FREE program. It is VERY similar to Photoshop, if not better.

Everyone should be advised that the GIMP does not run as a native Cocoa application, and requires the X11 window system to run. X11 can be found on your Mac OS X DVD.

The GIMP is a venerable program, that's for sure. I use it whenever I have editing to do, which admitedly isn't often.
