Good afternoon (well, it is here in England!)

I'm off on my hols soon - visiting friends abroad. I plan on taking my iPod (naturally) and wondered if I'd be able to charge it from my friends PC while I'm away. I realise I could buy a electrical charger but I thought this would save a few quid if possible.

As long as his PC has a powered USB port, sure. If his PC asks if you want to sync it or associate it with his iTunes (if he has iTunes) just click no.

Good advice . He can also set his iTunes to not start up by removing the tick in the of the device pane

While on the subject of charging I just purchased this bit of Kit http://www.solio.com/v2/ for general use

Thanks chaps. That saves me money and a tiny bit of luggage space too. Room for that extra pair of socks I guess ;-)

Out of interest Kilted, how much was the Solio? My wife is always on the lookout for things that will help us to be greener and this looks quite nifty.

Here is a link to Amazon UK
http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=nb_ss...field-keywords=solio&Go.x=0&Go.y=0&Go=Go?tag=

And one for Blacks
http://www.blacks.co.uk/blacks.storefront/SearchList.aspx?q=solio
It wouls pay to shop around and ask what charging tips are included. It comes with a USB cable so you can connect using your iPods cable or you can buy a solio Cable to do it

BTW. I lived a great part of my life in Southampton. So I know Portsmouth quite well too. In fact I leave today for my Holidays stay with my sister in Hythe

Hythe is not too far from my sister - she lives in West End and my parents live in Hedge End. Of course as a Pompey fan I try to avoid Southampton as much as possible... ;-) Enjoy your hols - can't wait for mine!

Thanks for the links - something to look into when I get back off holiday methinks. Last day at work today!
