I seriously need to upgrade my pb ram and have heard it´s better (and cheaper) to go with 3rd party ram.

What brand is the best?

Yes, third party RAM is much cheaper. I recommend ordering from www.crucial.com as they have been rated as the best RAM in terms of quality, and they have the cheapest prices I've ever found. Additionally, they have lifetime warranties and offer RAM specifically timed for Powerbooks.
