DVD won't eject!

OMG, I was using Toast when it hanged and I force quit. (not sure if it really hanged on account of being a newbie) But I was nervous so i force quit. now the DVD image has disappeared from the desktop but it hasn't come out yet. and When I hold down the eject button nothing happens... elp.

You can restart and hold down the mouse button during startup until it pops out.

hmmm... I clicked restart and a window popped up behind it so i cancelled. the window says: you intersted a blank DVD. choose an action....or click ignore.

and there's an eject button =P was that supposed to happen?
