Quick terminal question

iMac 17", Intel Core Duo
How come it always says:
"Welcome to Darwin.
You have new mail."

Every time I fire up a terminal window. It's the mail part that annoys me.

Darwin is the name of the UNIX under-pinnings of OS X.

Occasionally some processes will send a notification to your user account. You can read/delete them by following the instructions in this article.

Norton gives a notification for every scan and update, apparently. Thanks for the help
