After owning my laptop for over a year, i finally decided to create a 2nd account.
that said, I cannot open iTunes or Proteus (an MSN-like program). They both give me errors like this:

what can i do ?
All my other programs Photoshop, After Effects, Toast (etc) work perfectly. it seems to be only those 2 applications that are causing a problem. They are located in my Applications folder.

Hmm...

Go to iTunes in your Applications folder.

Do File > Get Info

What are your settings in the Ownership & Permissions section?

Mine is like this:

With these settings ^ , you should be able to open iTunes fine in ANY account.

it was originally those settings, it didnt work, so I had changed the "owner" to my managed account name. It then gave me the message (in my first post).

Now when i revert back to "owner: system" it says "you do not have permission to open iTunes".

and as you can see in my account permissions, "iTunes" is selected as "allow"

Hmm...

I'm not an expert on permissions.

But I remember
when I accidentally set the permissions of EVERYTHING in my Applications folder to my user account,
I re-set the permissions of the essential apps (like System Preferences, iTunes, etc.) by using Disk Utility.

Open Disk Utility: /Applications/Utilities/Disk Utility.app

Select your hard drive,
and do Verify Disk Permissions then Repair Disk Permissions.

it keeps for a keychain password -> it keeps asking for a keychain password?

And no, I don't think I can help with that though.

Did you previously set a password or something?
