Does anybody in here have a 20" iMac? I only ask because I was in the Apple store the other day using a 20" iMac and the LCD was absolutely incredible. I've never seen such bright vivid color out of an LCD screen before, and thus I'm wondering who the manufacturer of it is. It might say in the system profiler?

I love student discount (sig)
Have you seen the 23" HD Cinema display? :D:D:D:D:D:D

I seen them all in the Apple store and it doesn't say any manufacture name under the system profiler on the ones at my Apple store

They are awesome screens... and my dad "doesn't" see anything about them, he looked at them as if they were 15" crts, just like he ignored my iBook

he has a 19" CRT (Ugly, heavy), he thinks the iMac 20" LCD is just an inch bigger than his... hahahah... if you know what i mean

So I could spend 18000 USD on a 6400X1200 setup using 4 stuck together monitors or stick a second graphics card in my G5 and spend 8000 US on 4 Apple monitors and end up with the equivelent of 7680x1200.

With the 10,000 I save I could even get someone to remove the Apple screens from their cases and fabricate a stand to hold them all together!

I know which route I would choose. ;)

The iMac LCDs are supplied by Samsung. Samsung is the world's largest manufacturer and distributor of LCD panels.

I ve checked their website and I 'm pretty much impresed. very impresive hardware, espesially workstations. its a pity to see these mashines run widows.
I hope macs get at that level of hardware config someday. we have a way better OS but hardware is falling behind.
hope to see 3+ G5 next year
