Okay, so with Mac OS X disk ultility, you can set up partitions of different sizes? I started to do this, and had the impression disk utility wanted to only create partitions of equal size. So for a 320 GB drive I may have to do three 100GB partitions?

Yes, you can set up the partitions of whatever size you want. If you select the 2 partition option, it just automatically sets them as equal in size. Just change the first partition to the size you want and it will auto enlarge the other to take the balance of the drive.
