Start up problems

Hi i made a thread before about once in about 3 starts my macbook would just load up to a blue screen but now it only start up to a blue screen with my mouse in the corner please help i would like to fix this myself before taking it to apple.

Insert your install disks, and use the utilities to perform a disk repair.

If that doesn't help, try reinstalling OS X (Archive + Install).
