From what I've read, Intel Macs support booting from USB drives in addition to Firewire drives. You can get an 8 gig USB flash drive for as low as $60 or a 16 gig drive for about $130 now. Seems like it would be awfully handy to install OS X to one to have in case the internal drive fails and you need to boot up your computer temporarily. Anyone done it before?
