I've heard mention of a Command button. Is this the same as the Control button?

It's the key with the apple symbol on left, and a cloverleaf-like symbol on the right.
There's one on both sides of the space bar.

The Command key is the main modifier key for Mac OS X, just as Control is the main modifier key for Windows.
(as in you mainly use Command plus some other key for keyboard shortcuts)

A trick question: where is "option" key? I see command, ctrl, shift, alt keys. I've been reading about shortcuts, and some of them mention "option" key, and I have no idea where it is. If it helps, I've got iMac with a swedish keyboard.

I've bought a mac few hours ago, so excuse my complete noobishness.

Cheers :)

I've been trying to minimize all windows in finder for last 10 mins, and the reason why it didn't work is I had only 1 window opened. I thought minimize all window shortcut was supposed to minimize all windows on desktop, not just finder's windows.

Yeah, most things in Mac OS X work on an application-basis.

There are a few exceptions to this, however.

For instance, Exposé.

F9 will reveal all windows, regardless of application.

F10 will reveal the windows of the CURRENT application.

And this one you might find interesting:
F11 will move all windows off-screen.

Essentially, it acts as "minimize all windows of all apps."

By the way, if you want a mouse way of doing it,
go to Apple > System Preferences.
Dashboard & Exposé
Here, you can map the corners of the screen as "hot spots" for Exposé.
Especially practical if you map the lower left and lower right corners, since there is usually NOTHING there.

I usually do this:
Lower Left Corner = All Windows
Lower Right Corner = Desktop

I find that it works quite well.

Try it out.

I use the exact same setup, works very well and is faster than pressing keys, you just whip the mouse into the corner to leave whatever application you are in and access the desktop, do whatever you wanted to do on the desktop, then whip the mouse back down into the right corner and you are back in the application.

Its funny watching a windows user is on my laptop surfing the internet or something, they sometimes activate the expose features with the mouse and get all confused, if only they knew how easy things could be!

⌘ = & #8984 ;

_______^ remove spaces between & and # and between the 4 and the ;

Edited to add:

It could also be because the font you use doesn't support Unicode perhaps?
