yes it does.

I thought the macbook pro maxed out at 3gb not 4?

Upgrading the RAM, irregardless of source, on the Macbook/Macbook Pro/iMac/Mac Pro will NOT void your warranty.

Upgrading the hard drive on your Macbook/Mac Pro does not void its warranty. The hard drive is not a user replaceable part in the Macbook Pro/iMac, so it most likely WILL void the warranty.
