Well, my iPod hit the washing machine. i'm pretty unhappy even though I just got a new music phone. it's not a good speed through BT, because it's a hack to enable OBEX on the bloody thing. it doesn't hold nearly as many songs, and i'd like to be able to listen to music with regular headphones.

I'm sorry to hear that, i'm sure you can find a used ipod pretty cheap online or something.

My god and a Blue one! My favorite color. SAD!!

Did you leave it in your pants pocket or something and someone threw it in the washer? Does it do anything at all? Did you let it dry out?

Bummer buddy. I just got a new iPod today. I would be devastated if it got washed!

It's just so small and thin. I double checked my pockets, then it went through my Mom. Both me and my mom are taking responsibility, so she's paying half for me and I'll pay half for a new iPod video.

Maybe the nano will bring in a few bucks.

A top loading one. This is a front loading one. Spins extremely fast, and when it was in, I saw this little blue thing keep hitting the top, and then the bottom, then at the end of the cycle, when it was lightly spinning each way for 3 seconds, I could see it floating on the top of the standing water. :(

It couldn't hurt to let it sit out for two weeks to let it dry out natually. It may possibly dry out nicely and become functioning again. I wouldn't recommend a hair dryer or an oven to speed the process. Leave it somewhere really dry to get the core of the iPod dry again.
It may work. Atleast you're going halfzies on a new one.

I decided to take it apart. The circuit board is dry, but when I picked it up earlier, it made a weird hissing noise and the screen is...done.

I feel for ya. However, I'd love it if my 2nd gen iPod would meet a tragic demise. ...it'd give me a reason to go out and get a new one ;)
But it's a little trooper and still works like a champ.

Thanks. I took it apart. Neat insides. It's dry. I plugged it in to my computer, the backlight flashed about 6 or 7 times, and then made a loud hiss. then it died, and pressure damage marks and cracking on the screen appeared! :(:(

iPod 30 GB, here I come!

You should have tossed it into the dryer right away, before it had a chance to shrink.

The washing machine claimed my friend's daughter's Shuffle last month...left it in her jeans pocket.
